The „Let’s Include Together” youth exchange project aims to promote intercultural understanding through getting together youth with different cultural and social backgrounds to learn about social exclusion/inclusion and the discrimination of minority youth. 30 youngsters aged between 15-25 years and 6 group leaders from Hungary, Romania and Serbia will gather in Plăieșii de Jos, Romania for 8 days. The project is financed by the European Commission through the Youth in Action Programme, Action 3.1a.
Youth with multiple disadvantage (economic, geographic, social) and from disadvantaged minorities are involved in the project to break the barriers between “us” and “them”; to increase the mutual understanding and sense of unity; to exchange experiences, best practices and find solutions together to the problem of social exclusion in their communities. The planned activities and informal education methods will encourage the youth to recognize the important role they can play in fighting social exclusion and developing a socially inclusive society.
The activities are designed around six main themes:
- Adventure education
- Stereotypes, prejudices, discrimination and social exclusion
- Non-violent communication
- Volunteering and solidarity
- Cultural diversity and traditions
- EU mobility programs
